What is this Open Challenge is about?

If you think you’re a master at creating jaw-dropping interior visualization renderings, then show us and the world!

Whether you’re a professional or a student, this is your chance to show off your amazing design skills with 3ds Max.

Send in your original work and selected entries will win great prizes and get featured on Autodesk social media and marketing campaigns. No entry fees are required!

    Any 3ds Max user residing in ASEAN countries, whether professional or student, can enter this contest. We want to see all your awesome renders!

  • What is the deadline for entry?

    Deadline for submission is 31 May 2019

  • Do I have to use 3ds Max?

    Yes, your scene must be created using 3ds Max. However, you can use any renderer of your choice such as Arnold or Vray.

  • What do I have to submit?

    Send us these 3 things:

    1. Image of your final render (1920x1080 or 1280x720)
    2. Screengrab image of your design in 3ds Max viewport
    3. A short description of your workflow to achieve your final image in 100 words or less
  • How do I submit an entry?

    Email us your final render and viewport images in JPG, GIF or PNG formats to 3dsmaxchallenge@autodesk.com with the following information. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.

  • Can I submit an entry as a team or an organization?

    No, all entries have to be submitted by an individual

    Nope, nothing. Entry is free!

  • What is the judging criteria used?

    Our judging panel will evaluate entries based on these three elements:

    • Originality of idea
    • Design and creative aesthetics
    • Demonstration of technical ability

    • No purchase necessary to enter or win. There is no cost to enter the Contest.
    • The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries. Autodesk cannot predict the odds of winning as they have no prior knowledge of the number of entrants who will participate.
    • Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Employees and the immediate families of the Autodesk, their parent companies, subsidiaries, representatives, and advertising/promotion agencies are not eligible and prohibited from entering.
    • The Contest is open to residents of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar except where prohibited or restricted by national or local law.
    • Entries must be submitted by an individual.
    • The entrant may submit only one entry to the Contest. If the entrant submits more than one entry, all entries will be disqualified.
    • Entries must be submitted electronically per the instructions on the Entry Form.
    • By entering, entrants warrant that to the best of their knowledge: (1) their entry is an original idea; (2) they own full intellectual property rights over their design (3) the design does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
    • Autodesk shall not be liable to an entrant for the commercialization of ideas that have been independently developed without the use of the entrant's submission.
    • Entrants grant the Autodesk permission to contact them using the information provided on the contest entry form, including name, address, email address, and phone number.
    • Entrants shall have all or part of their entry information on the contest web site during the Contest Live Period.
    • Autodesk is not responsible for any expenses incurred by entrants in connection with participation in the Contest and will not return any materials submitted to the Contest.
    • Autodesk reserves the right to disqualify entries that are frivolous or fail to meet the entry requirements as described in these Official Rules. Autodesk also reserves the right to remove any entry information or comments from the Contest web site that they deem objectionable or obscene.
    • The Contest may be terminated at Autodesk’s sole discretion.
    • Prizes cannot be substituted or redeemed for cash except at Autodesk’s sole discretion. Autodesk reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason.
    • All federal, state, local, municipal, income, and other taxes (if any) are the sole responsibility of the winners.
    • Entrants are authorized to and approve the use of images created from entry visuals for use in marketing materials to be produced by Autodesk and their assigns, including use on web sites. Entrants are authorized to and do grant Autodesk, their affiliates, and assigns the right to use, reproduce, or incorporate in any manner whatsoever all or any portion of the aforementioned images. Entrants represent and warrant that the materials are owned by them or their company free and clear of any liens or claims of any third-party, that they have a legal right to grant the permission herein given on behalf of themselves, their company, or a third party, if appropriate.     • Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Autodesk, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. By entering, they agree to waive any right to claim ambiguity or error in these Official Rules. Except where prohibited by law, the winners consent to the use of their name and/or likeness by Autodesk for advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation. Each entrant agrees that Autodesk and other Sponsors of the Contest and their parent companies, agents, representatives, affiliates, and employees will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from his/her participation in the Contest or resulting from the acceptance of prizes.
